Arizona Cardinals' most underrated player is the NFL's ultimate feel-good story

Though the NFL is a business, there are few times when feel-good stories happen.

One of those stories was Arizona Cardinals' center Hjalte Froholdt going from journeyman to starting offensive lineman in one offseason.

It is for that reason he was named the Cardinals' most underrated player by Pro Football Focus in a recent article.

As a Danish NFL player, Froholdt jumped from team to team, never able to stick anywhere. Then he got his chance in the desert. He hasn't looked back. Here is what Pro Football Focus' Zoltán Buday had to say about the 27-year-old finally getting his opportunity:

"The Danish center bounced around the league as a backup for a couple of years before signing with the Cardinals last offseason and winning the starting position in the middle of the offensive line. While many might have expected the position to be a liability for Arizona, Froholdt played well and was PFF’s 19th-highest-graded guard during the 2023 season. He earned the second-highest grade among all centers during the last third of the regular season."

The Cardinals spent the offseason improving on the periphery. That is sure to help quarterback Kyler Murray and company, who are attempting to return to competitiveness after a lost 2023 season. If Froholdt is still the same player he was last season in 2024, he will be far more than just another NFL feel-good story.
