Urban Meyer definitively put down any ongoing rumors that he has any desire to return to the college football coaching ranks, saying that he has no intention of taking a job at another school.

"I am good," he said as reported by the Knoxville News Sentinel. "I never really took a day off. People, when I say that, they scratch their head. I am like, I never took a day off. I had some health stuff go on. I became addicted to sleeping pulls. I was just a maniac worker."

Not that he hasn't been drawn in by temptation every now and then. But it always comes back around to his just saying no.

"So, the first year or so was kind of like, wake up and like, I want to go coach a team. But no desire. So, no. No desire," he said.

Meyer was last seen on a sideline during his short tenure with the Jacksonville Jaguars, who fired him after a 2-11 record fraught with controversies.

But prior to that, Meyer established himself as one of the most accomplished college football head coaches in the modern era.

He won two national championships with Florida in 2006 and 2008 before resigning his post late in 2010.

But a year later, the native of Ashtabula, Ohio, returned to his roots by accepting the Ohio State head coaching position, winning a third national title as the Buckeyes claimed the first-ever College Football Playoff championship.

He retired after Ohio State defeated Washington in the Rose Bowl Game.

Part of Meyer's desire to stay away from the game comes from recent innovations in the transfer portal system and the name, image, and likeness changes.

"It has never been harder, I am telling you right now," Meyer said in reference to how many players now have agents involved in the recruiting process.

He added: "Maybe a coordinator every once in a while had an agent. There is nothing wrong with agents. They're great. But when I am the head coach having to deal with a high school player that [says], 'Meet with my agent first,' I am going, I want to meet with your family because you are talking about recruiting and other stuff."
